Between The Covers Live: Celebrating Agatha Chistie, is hitting the road this autumn with a special event that acknowledges the bestselling novelist of all time. The show comes to the Babbacombe Theatre, Torquay for one night only on Friday 16th October at 7.30pm. Tickets are on sale from 10am Thursday 21st May.
With more than 2 billion books sold in over 100 languages, Christie’s legacy as the undisputed “Queen of Crime” continues to captivate readers across generations. This year marks the 50th anniversary of her death, making it the perfect moment to celebrate her enduring influence on the world of crime fiction.
Whether you’re a devoted fan of Poirot, intrigued by Miss Marple, or new to Christie’s work, this unique live show promises a thrilling exploration of her timeless appeal.
Hosted by Amanda Ross, (highly influential TV producer) the event will feature a stellar panel including bestselling author, actor and director Ben Miller ((Death in Paradise, Johnny English, Paddington 2, Bridgerton) and bestselling novelist Lucy Foley, (The Paris Apartment, The Guest List). Foley has recently been commissioned by Agatha Christie Limited to write a brand-new Miss Marple novel, Murder at the Grand Alpine Hotel, published 50 years after Christie’s final Marple story.
Together, they will delve into Christie’s influence, discuss their own work, and share their favourite Christie novels, alongside additional special guest appearances.
The evening will also include book signings, giving audiences the perfect opportunity to pick up a Christie classic—or a new favourite—in time for Christmas.
